David Field is joining the Cave and his new crime thriller series starring DI Max Saxby will be out soon...
David became a full-time novelist after retiring at the end of a lengthy and varied career as both a practising and an academic criminal lawyer.
He’s since become a successful and highly regarded author of historical novels and now wishes to convert some of his career experiences into ‘cosy’ police procedurals.
The Mike Saxby series incorporates and reflects David’s familiarity with criminal investigations and their outcomes in the courts. He’s prosecuted criminals, and he’s defended them, as well as spending some years as a stipendiary magistrate in a busy city criminal court.
David is married, with two sons and five grandchildren, and lives on the borders of New South Wales and Queensland, Australia, where droughts, floods, bushfires, cyclones, and severe tropical storms keep life interesting.
