Ben Brodie

Ben Brodie lives and works in Scotland.  A pathologist by training, he is a writer by inclination. He studied medicine in Glasgow and has worked in the NHS as well as universities in Scotland, England, Northern Ireland and the US. Most of his published work to date is non-fiction, including textbooks and regular magazine articles on topics as diverse as the thalidomide story, the medical challenges of space travel and the history of vaccines. More recently he has been writing historical crime fiction, poetry and experimental novels. His poetry has been published by Dreich, and a movie based on one of his non-fiction books, Born in Scandal, is currently in pre-production. In 2022, he won the UK Classical Association Creative Writing Competition and the International Alpine Fellowship Writing Prize.

 

 

The Silent House of Sleep will be his debut novel and the first in the Dr Jack Cuthbert series.
